I decided to create this website because I love to shop designer clothes without spending a lot of money. I am a girl who came from a poor background, but a rich mentality. My philosophy is simple, you don’t accumulate wealth by spending all your money. You accumulate wealth by spending some and investing some. What Thrift2Save is All About This blog is all about showing you that thrifting does not mean that you are poor. Thrifting means making smart decision so you can grow your account bigger. I live in one of the richest counties in Georgia. My husband and I both work full time. He works for the Home Depot headquarters and I work for one of the biggest hospitals in the state. We only have 2 children, but we live in a six-bedroom home, our home. I am telling you this so you can understand if my husband and I were not frugal people, we would have lost the house. I was was not always working in the hospital, but I made it work. And one of the ways that I did that was by thrifting. 2. What Thirft2Save Is Not About Thrift2Save is not about showing off. This blog is about teaching you how you can look great and save money while doing it. I will not go buy an expensive handbag and tell you that I got it at the Thrift store. I do occasionally buy expensive stuff, but I always make sure I have the budget for it. WE DO NOT TEACH LIVING ABOVE OUR NEEDS. 3. Thrift2Save Will Publish Ads I want to let you know up front that we will be publishing ads on this site. We need to keep the blog running and that’s the best way to do it. We have to pay for hosting, templates, and SEO fees. I will also be linking to my other site a lot. 4. Thrift2Save Is Not Limited To Fashion Although our focus will be on looking good, we will not limit ourselves to buying clothes only. We will look good while making our house look good. We will also beautify our minds by buying books that will help us grow smarter. We will also buy beauty products if we have to. LOL! 5. Thrift2Save Is About Building A Community We want to build a community around a common goal. We want to have conversations about family, money, and fashion. I personally want women to feel comfortable enough to talk about money and taking charge of their finances. I also want us to not look at thrifting in a negative way. Thrifting is good not only for our wallets, but also our environment.
